Paper fouling heads - Is this even possible

Under pressure, printing for a show I ran out of Innova Fiba Gloss 11x17. I emailed Jim Doyle and got a new pack. I also requested a pack of 13 x 19 for some larger panos. Turned out that was back ordered, but Jim had just gotten in 13 x 19 warm tone Fiba Gloss. I was printing toned images using a 2200 with ultrachrome inks and quadtone rip and neutral images using mis fsn inks on a 1280. They both worked perfectly or reasonably so with the old Blue Label (lumpy grain) stock and with the new Black Label in 11 x 17. Then I tried printing the warm tone. A total disaster. Clog after clog on both the ultrachrome inks and the mis. Spent more time cleaning heads than printing and every print but one developed a problem in the midst of printing. Finally did the large pano on Innova Photo Smooth - no problem - using the mis inks. Probably could have done it also on Ultrachrome and gotten the tone I wanted, but I was running out of time. Is it possible for a paper to clog heads? Has anyone else had this experience. I've asked Jim the same question, but have not received an answer. I'm assuming he's out of town since he is usually quick to respond. Mike
