Epson 3800 and long sheets of paper

Although the 3800 doesnt accept rolls of paper, isn't it possible just to get around this by cutting up a roll and feeding it manually into the printer? Isn't it possible just to set a custom paper size in the Epson printer driver? If this would work, I will probably buy one.
