MIS Autoprint - Paul

Paul,

You wrote that you intended to use Autoprint for the 7500.

I have used it some time now on a quad 9000 and a 10000 with
MIS 7600 ink. On the last I have taken out the nozzle
control/cleaning stage at start up etc and so far I have more
consistency from the Autoprints than from the excessive cleanings.

Do you have a similar experience ?

Ernst,

I have not personally used Autoprint. However, reports from a 4000 user
suggest it takes care of the blended ink tone drift.

My problem with that approach is that I don't leave my systems on when I'm
gone or even over night. Additionally, the lack of a paper tray on the
printers would require a roll of paper be left on the printer, and I don't
want to waste the paper. I suppose I could fit butcher paper onto a roll to
save the good paper.

How do you disable the cleaning cycles at start up?

It is set for a print in the morning and while one printer may
not work for days I'm around most of the time. What I would
like though is that it would print in "roll cutter off" mode.
The cutter on the 9000 has been removed and it would work as
well without cutting.

On cleaning: On the 10000 there is an option for that in
service mode. I didn't change it on the 9000 (if it can be
changed) as that one wastes far less ink (and time).

From what I recall, there is no option for the 75/9500 printers to
disable the power on cleaning. You can change it to a heavier cleaning
(KK2) or the lightest (KK0). If the firmware is the newest, you can use
the KK3 clean cycle. I still go by.. If Epson didn't need to have the
cleaning cycle, they would not have put it there. It's not like we are
using the expensive Epson ink, so it's of little cost.
