Shaking 4800 cartridges

If you pull the cartridges on the 4800 to shake them, does it do more cleaning on powerup than if you did not pull them? I guess what I\ufffdm asking, is, does it cost more in ink to do a monthly shake of the cartridges? Best regards, John Moody
