Thanks. Sorry to be so anal, but do you need to pull the plug as well, or could that alone trigger yet another cleaning and be a bad idea in itself? I'm guessing there is an ever_5V supply on all the time in these things that "could" know if you pulled the cartridge. Best regards, John Moody

John, It sounds like two things need to be suggested here; 1) look into a cheaper source of ink ( I use my NAPP discount with PC Mall) and 2) relax, I don't find my 4800 requiring a power cleaning very often at all.
