Epson 2400 and K7 Ink Carts

Epson 2400 and K7 Ink Carts

2006-10-27 by Tom Husband

Has anybody had trouble with the Cone K7 carts for a 2400? First off
mine don't fit. The cartridge cover won't snap shut. The carts seem
to click in and go through the charging process but then on the first
nozzle check I get serious gaps and large blotches of ink on either
side. Now the paper and ink buttons are flashing and the carts are
locked over to the right and can't be moved. All I want to do now is
get the carts out and go back to the Epson carts. It's really
upsetting as these aren't cheap at all. I've written to them and
asked to return them. It's just not worth the hassle.

Tom,

I had the same problem with MIS carts, so I took a pair of wire
nippers and clipped off the very tip of the part of the cartridge that
clicks in place in the printer. That will let you close the printer
cartridge cover and also stop the blinking lights on the printer. To
move the carriage, press the second from the top button. That'll move
the carriage to the center of the open area on the right so you can
take out the carts to clip them and put them back in. Make sure you
hear them click into place.

Johnny

Thanks Johnny but I'm not sure I should have to do that for the money
they charge for these. They should work first time out. I, maybe,
could see it with the MIS carts as they're a lot less money.

Regards,

Tom
