I'v been using both. The 1280 is better, in my opinion, smoother tones. Identical prints from both printers show the following differences. The 1160 printer is a VERY tiny bit sharper than the 1280. The 1280 printer has smoother tones especially from one tone to another that is slightly different. You have to study these prints closely to see the difference. I think overall quality goes to the 1280, though. Jerry If you don't use Paul Roark's curves on the 1160, you may see dots in the highlights. You won't ever see dots in the 1280 prints no matter what ink you use, or if you use curves or not. dpr94025 wrote:
