3000 conflict?

3000 conflict?

2002-01-21 by ternahan

I hope someone out there can help me...sorry for the cross postings...
I have a G3 BW and Epson printers 1200, 2000P and 3000. I am using OS 9.04
The 3000 was off for a while and now I get a communication error, check
cables etc. when I try to print. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. The
printer self check is fine and the icons show up in the extensions list.
I tried turning off all the network extensions, but it didn't help.
Any thoughts?

thanks in advance,
trish

I'm assuming it was working fine then stopped. Try some of
these VooDoo methods:

1)Your'e on a Mac I seem to remember so first zap the pram
three times in a row. If not try:

2) Pull out the usb cable with the printer on. Then turn off printer,
wait 30 seconds plug usb cable in then turn printer on.

3) Turn off printer and pull usb and restart. After restart plug
printer in and turn on power.

You can do variations of the above - I know it's sound funny but it
does work. The printer and/or usb needs to be reset .

Don't know who makes your usb adapter but Epson makes the
best one if that is any help!

Best Regards,

John V.

Trish,
hope this WooDoo helped finaly, if not...
assuming that the printer shows up in the chooser as an USB
Port...you may try a general printer reset:

turn printer OFF
hold down Pause+LF/FF+MicroAdj(down arrow) together
turn printer ON
hold down buttons until all lights flash, than let go buttons.

Good luck.
Hold my fingers crossed.
