Any 3800 users

Any 3800 users

2006-12-08 by John Luke

Any 3800 users here, or is there another group for that unit? I am going to test some Museo
Silver Rag and Innova FibaPrint White Gloss for B&W and it would be great to hear from some
folks who have tried it already.

Thanks!

-John

What are your thoughts on the 3800. As good as you hoped? I am looking to
buy one but have not found anyone who has them available. Does anyone know
of who is currently has some in stock?
Thanks,
Gary W.

What is the maximum length of paper you can feed into it?

Can't afford one, but I dream!

I fed an 820mm length into my 2100 through the top feeder. I wonder why they didn't allow the driver to take longer cut paper than that through the top feeder because it works.

Scott,

Do I read that BO works great on the 3800 for prints up to 16" (small
side)?

Cheers,
Andre

I don't see why it would matter what size BO print you print, big or
small.

Unfortunatly, I have to print on gloss surface, so I have PK
installed in my 4800. The PK has really bad "bronzing" on media
requiring PK ink.

The next printer I buy (what ever replaces the X800 series)I use MK,
unless it will hold both "blacks". :>)

I've got a 3800 in for testing at the moment. The Advanced Black and
White mode does produce lovely prints, whether on glossy paper or on
matt. Personally I prefer the matt for BW, I've been printing my
infrared images on Hahnemuhle photo rag and on Epson's Velvet Fine Art.

Cheers,

Wayne

Hi Victor,

I found the Hahnemuhle photo rag worked beautifully if I used the
Epson Velvet FA setting.

Cheers,

Wayne
