Preventing cleaning cycle in 2400

2006-12-10 by bfwoolner

I just set up a new 2400 and went through 1/2 of original inkset due
to corrupted file and difficult installation. Having gone through
this $ wasting experience I searched the forum for preventing the
cleaning cycle in this particular printer to no avail.

Is there a way to bypass the cleaning cycle in the Epson 2400?
Anyone? Thanks.

Yes, I'd like to know the secret to that too. It drives me crazy when I
have one cart flashing low and one or more carts low but not flashing. I
change the low one, it goes through the priming sequence and when I think
I'm good to go the others are now flashing. If only the new cart was primed
but then they wouldn't sell as much ink would they.

I thought I read if you unplug the printer after you press the ink button
and the head moves you can change a cart, plug it back in and the there
won't be a prime cycle. I tried that but it still went through priming.

You can save some cleaning cycles by leaving the printer on all the time.

Thanks, Bert. That does save a few. I'm interested in saving more
when I switch out cart.
