What film format are you using? 35mm needs a 4000dpi scanner

At 300 dpi for an 11x14 you'd need to scan at 3200, IF you print full
frame. A 4000 dpi scanner would be required.

Not really, just upsample in the bicubic mode up to 3200 or 4000 DPI.
You won't even notice any loss in quality.

Hi Don:

If you are scanning med. format, then definately look at a flatbed like the
Epson 1680($1100) or 2540($300). I use the 1680 and I'm very happy with it
as it creates beautiful full size contact sheet scans.

if price is not a big issue, others will comment on dedicated 35mm/med.
format scanners.

If you are doing 35mm, I like the Nikon IV and the Polaroid Sprintscan 4000.

All the best!

Unless you are extremly picky, the Canon FS 2710 or Minolta should be
just fine for this.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments. I've been looking into both
of these, and I'll probably go with the Minolta Scan Dual II. Has
anybody heard much abut the Acer Scanwit? I've read some good
reviews, but it doesn't seem too popular.
