I have a 4000 and a 3800. I would buy the 3800. Much more versatile. Much fewer nozzle clogs. I find it more fun and easier to use but that is subjective. It also has the K3 inks and prints much better on the new papers like Silver Rag and Innova F-Gloss.

Add my vote to the 3800, for the same reasons. The K3 inks are more
lightfast and have less bronzing on glossy papers. It also makes
great BW without a 3rd party RIP.
