Changing Inks

2007-03-13 by Greg Stempel

This is old news for most I assume, so forgive me if I am resurrecting an
old topic.

I have the Epson 2200 and read the B&H ad for Piezo inks that I could change
from the black Piezos back to color with issue. Is this true? How about
other ink manufacturers products?

Take care,

It's the same with MIS. The latest MIS inks are quite compatible with Epson
pigments and are made from the MIS color pigments inksets -- with the PK, LK
and LLK being the main inputs.

That said, there is residual color that'll stay in the head for quite some
time. So, expect significant "pollution" of your printing as you switch
back and forth. If at all possible, I'd recommend separate printers.
