Hi, can anyone shed any light on this? Is Epson Velvet Fine Art available in the UK, does it go under a different name in the UK? I can't find it on Epson's UK site, & a retail photography shop I was in today could not find any mention of it from there suppliers. Cheers, Ian.

On the U.S. Epson website, Velvet Fine Art and Somerset Velvet are two different papers. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Geoffrey Meadowcroft <geoffmead@...> wrote: > > Ian > I think that Velvet Fine Art is listed as "Somerset Velvet" on the Epson > UK site. > > Geoff > > ianmclanaghan wrote: > > > > Hi, can anyone shed any light on this? > > Is Epson Velvet Fine Art available in the UK, does it go under a > > different name in the UK? > > I can't find it on Epson's UK site, & a retail photography shop I was

Hi, The impression I have is that they are 2 different papers. Epson UK do not list Vevet Fine Art, my problem is that I want a quality paper that I can settle on for my "best" prints, (colour & B+W) I do not want to waste money on buying a custom profile for a paper that might soon be unavailable. It has been pointed out that Velvet Fine Art is available in the UK, but why do Epson not carry it? Thanks for the replies , Ian. ======================================== On the U.S. Epson website, Velvet Fine Art and Somerset Velvet are two different papers. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Geoffrey Meadowcroft wrote: > > Ian > I think that Velvet Fine Art is listed as "Somerset Velvet" on the Epson > UK site. > > Geoff > > ianmclanaghan wrote: > > > > Hi, can anyone shed any light on this? > > Is Epson Velvet Fine Art available in the UK, does it go under a > > different name in the UK? > > I can't find it on Epson's UK site, & a retail photography shop I was > > in today could not find any mention of it from there suppliers. > > Cheers, Ian. > > > > > Please visit the Group Homepage to check the Files, and other resources as they are often being updated. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint If you wish to receive no emails or just a daily digest, or you wish to unsubscribe, please edit your Membership preferences by visiting this same page. Ian The paper is made by St Cuthbert's Mill in the UK, they sell it as Somerset Enhanced Velvet. You can buy it from On-line Paper (among others) - see http://www.on-linepaper.co.uk/acatalog/on_line_p_per_co_uk_Bockingford_Inkjet___Somerset_Enhanced_Digital_Art_16.html Brian Price

I would like to know where it was made, I came across this review.... http://whatdigitalcamera.com/equipment/review/Epson_Velvet_Fine_Art_Inkjet_Paper_11325.php The main comment I refer you to is... " I had thought Epson's velvet paper was made by St. Cuthbert's Mills, of Somerset Velvet fame, but the box says made in Japan." This is confusing me, Cheers, Ian.
