Digital BW, The Print

I had the opportunity to preview this book, by our old friend Amadou.
I'd highly recommend it to everyone-

I'm constantly amazed by how much bad info is out there, and this one
is all good! Amadou has been doing this stuff a long time, and doing
it well. He managed to include info about the latest printers as well,
and also some very good advice for artists about portfolio prep, all
kinds of things...

it shows the release date to be april 10, 2007. Perhaps that is the problem.

First, many thanks to Tyler for posting this. I should mention that he
is overly modest and did much more than "preview" the book. He was
gracious enough to serve as technical editor and put up with many many
phone calls from me over the past 5 months.

As for Amazon, the book is not yet shipping but was supposed to be
listed by now as a pre-order item. My publisher and Amazon are working
to get this corrected and should have the book info online very soon.
When I get a firm ship date (a moving target as of yesterday) I'll
post it on the book forum at www.masteringdigitalbwbook.com/forums and
update the "buy the book" links on the site.

I'm new to B&W printing and I'm looking forward to Amadou's book. In 
the meantime, I have an Epson R2400. When I use the ABW I get great 
B&W prints, but it's not the same as I just converted on the screen. 
Do I need to use the 'color' function for those particular B&W's? I'm 
wasting a lot of expensive paper. Will the printer print B&W from any 
old color image that is not converted? Did I waste my money and time 
on a B&W conversion plug-in for Photoshop?
