Re: [Digital BW] Re: Eclipse Satine Comments Comparison to XGS
2001-08-17 by Steadman Uhlich
Mike, The Eclipse Satine is entirely different from the Xtreme Gamut Satine. I have both and have printed with both. The XGS has a more velvet finish (more tooth) than the Eclipse Satine. The Eclipse satine has a very smooth almost toothless finish (like Torchon without the parchment texture). Eclipse satine is very white compared to XGS "Natural White." You may have the XGS "Extra White." The Eclipse has two printable sides. I think this is a great feature. Especially interesting for book projects. The Eclipse Satine 300 does not print as well as other papers when using the PiezoBW inks. It does print well using the Epson and PiezoColor inks. I just printed 8 test images last night (using both sides of the paper...which is nice and money saving) and the sepia toned images looked very nice. I used Orwell profile. I am almost out of the Eclipse Satine 300 (sent off several sheets to other Piezographers for testing) but I will order more... Your results may differ, using different curves and different inks. Martin,
Is the BrightCube Eclipe Velvet and Satine similar to their old
Extreme Gamut Satine?
