Neither are ideal for B&W; the PRO9000 uses dye inks that shift tone
significantly with differing light sources. The HP B9180 does not use a light black
ink for light areas in its color mode, so it prints all light grays with color
inks. Its B&W mode is supposed to eliminate this issue, but has no tonal
control, and would have to print light grays entirely from dark gray ink. The Epson
2400 and 3800 are better B&W printing choices.
