Master Digital B&W: book : Diallo

The book arrived an hour ago. Immediately apparent: 1) http://www.diallophotography.com/artistbio.html 2 Diallo's writing is crisp, interesting. He virtually never uses the word "I" (except in interviews with important B&W inkjet figures such as Paul Roark). Absence of "I" demonstrates that he wrote to be helpful rather than to promote himself. 3) The material is skilfully introduced in levels: background, intro, deeper etc. Everything's accessible, easy to wade into. 4) The organization encourages use for reference and for browsing. It appears to address virtually everything that's discussed online, other than troubleshooting. It's not a simple linear ABC, how-to book. 5) Current products are mentioned and discussed in detail, but the author does not appear to promote them: No spam. 6) Technology products are discussed, therefore the book will surely be revised in the fullness of time: You'll want this edition and the next. 7) There will inevitably be quibbles...a book of this depth and detail cannot be perfect. 8) An exhaustive Index is wisely included. 9) Thompson Course Technology is the publisher. That inherently means top quality, both in content, editing, and in physical production: better than is typical in computer or photo technique books. 10) Adams and White on Zone System come to mind. Important book.
