Digital BW, The Print

I'm wondering what is the longest print one can get on an Epson 3800?  
I had heard that
44 inches is the longest, but I'm wondering if there might be a work  
around for that,
either with a RIP, or some other way?

In contemplating a purchase of that machine, this is an important  
factor for me.

The Epson drivers enforce a 44 inch length, but the printer will print longer.
In QTR I've allowed up to 128 inches but since there is no roll paper
capability over 44 inch paper is a bit of a hassle.  If you like to use roll
paper the 4800 is a obvious alternative -- you also get much bigger carts.
