Andre:
I don't know how you work when refilling a cartridge. In my practice,
the only time I had a leak while refilling was when I overlooked
taping the outlet port.
For the Epson Photo 2200 (MIS sponge carts)and a Canon i9900 with MIS
cartridges also, my first act upon removing a cartridge is to wipe the
exit port clean with a paper towel. I then cut about three inches of
plastic electrician's tape which I stretch tightly as I center it on
the exit port and secure it to the cart sides.
I then remove the bit of tape (no plug) which seals the fill hole. I
give that area a swipe with the paper towel and then apply a small
spring clamp to the non-sponge area of the cartridge. Ink is then
added and, generally, a new bit of tape closes the fill hole. The
clamp is then removed and the cartridge returned to the machine after,
of course, removing the exit port tape.
