I cannot fingure out how to display mulitple saved curves at one time in Photoshop. I have several of curves that I use to adjust contrast before printing and would like to be able to compare them on screen at the same time to get a visual sense of the differences among them. At this point, I plot them on graph paper which seems silly. Any ideas? Steve

Have you tried using duplicate images with each curve applied to see the difference? _____

I have. The problem is that you cannot select the duplicate while a curve is open for the original and visa-versa. Screen shots may be the answer here. Thanks. Try using Curves Adjustment Layers (Layer > New Adjustment Layer > curves). You can have as many as you want or need and independently turn each on on or off. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Stephen Kobrin" <kobrins@...> wrote:

Steve, What you might consider is, with your image open, make as many new curves layers as you need and then load your saved curves. By turning each one on and off you can see the difference each one makes. You could also duplicate your image and load a different curve into each one. Hope this helps! Rollin

If that's right, you can screen capture each one as it is opened And then make a new file with each image of the curve on a single sheet. I used a little free untility called Screenhunter to capture the curve dialogs >I would like to attach a sample image to show you but I don't see that option? Jack

Thanks to all who have chipped in here. I do want to compare the slopes and it sounds like screen capture is the way to go. I use a utility called Easyscreen that works well. Steve --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "jnhugo" <jnhugo@...> wrote:

Steve, This is a simple feat with an action set that you can write for yourself. Some of the other suggestions get you close, but this sounds like something that you'd like to do more than once or twice. Make an action that creates a new layer mask with curves that you use. The action could even include make a copy from the current state. There could be a save command if you need to go that far. You can go back to the image after the action has run and turn on and off the layers to see. Alternatively within the action make a snap shot of the image and then you'd only need to click between those version to see your image. If you like what you see you could save a copy from that state and print. For each curve, display the curve in Photoshop and use a screen grabber (Grab in OS 10.4) to capture the curve and then save it as a tiff. After you've saved all you want to compare, open them all and put each in a different place on your monitor. In OS 10 a tiff will open in Preview when double clicked.. Hope that helps.
