The new 16-35mm L lens is supposed to be the widest zoom canon makes, so it's just a hair wider than the 17-35mm L lens. The difference can't really be great enough to make anybody sell their 17-35mm to get the 16, I wouldn't think. Don't know what the other is, or if there is one.
