Canon lenses 17-35 vs. 16-35mm

Canon lenses 17-35 vs. 16-35mm

2002-01-31 by Steadman Uhlich

Some people are selling their 17-35mms to get the 16-35mm...due to perceived/hyped improvements in sharpness at the ends of the zoom.

The difference can't
really be great enough to make anybody sell their 17-35mm to get the 16,
I wouldn't think. Don't know what the other is, or if there is one.
They need to put out an 8mm just for digital.

Nikon already does have an 8mm.

It's a full-blown fisheye though, as well as being quite the largest wide
angle lens that you'll ever see.

I don't see a rectilinear 8mm though, even if figured just to cover
23.5x15mm.

The back focus is far too long to dodge the mirror.

That's why I wonder why no brave soul has brougt out a digicam with a Leica
39mm screw or M mount so the Voigtlander 15mm can be used.

Are you listening Cosina? :-)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
