ICC profiles for Epson Stylus Pro 3800

ICC profiles for Epson Stylus Pro 3800

2007-10-24 by jwinberg1

Hi Gang:

I just got an ESP 3800, and cannot locate ICC profiles for it, either
on the supplied CD OR on the Epson site.

Have these been released, and, if so, can some kind soul point me to a
download site?

Thanks in advance................ Jack Winberg

When you install the device driver for the printer the profiles are installed then for Epson
Papers. If you are working with non-Epson papers these are usually found at the paper mfgs
website.

Here's a useful site regarding the Epson 3800 and profiles (as well
as other things):
http://people.csail.mit.edu/ericchan/dp/Epson3800/faq.html#whereprofiles

The Epson profiles for the 3800 all begin with the prefix Pro38. They
are installed during printer setup (driver software installation).

THANKS to those indicating that the 3800 profiles were installed in
the appropriate directory with the prefix "pro38", when the 3800
driver was installed.

NOW I need to translate those abbreviated profile names into paper
types. I am assuming that "EMP" = enhanced mat, PGPP = premium
glossy, UISFAP = Ultra Smooth Fine Art and VFAP = Velvet Fine Art.

Is PPSmC Semi-mat or Semi gloss? What about "PQIJP", "PSPP",
"SWMP", "SWMP_LD, and "ARMP"?

I would really appreciate a complete translation.

Again, thanks in advance............. Jack Winberg

OOPS!

I asked for the translation of the abbreviations for the 3800
profiles installed during the driver install, and Bob Damon sent me
to a neat site describing all. Thanks, Bob, as well as everyone who responses.

BTW, that 3800 is a NEAT printer, seems quiet, fast, and of
exceedingly high quality.

Jack
