Epson 1800 black only

Epson 1800 black only

2007-11-21 by frogeyesfred

Is it possible to print with MK only on the 1800 without using the QTR
program or other MK inks in the PK and glop positions? I was always
pleased with the BO printing method on my 1280 but it died and will be
replaced by an 1800. (even with Epson's recent ITC win)

Had seriously considered the HP9180 but from what I've read the 1800
seems like a better choice.

thanks for any information

The 1800 usually bands with only one channel printing, and the Epson driver
does not support Black Only printing - perhaps for that reason. The 3-MK
approach was a response to the banding problem.

Thank you for the information. I'd read the 1800 shuts off the other
two inksets when printing Mk but the QTR must resolve this? Also,
your page and the wealth of material you post is a real bonus to all
us old time darkroom types.
