Dear Cowpercam, I have a solution for you, but it certainly would be good to start signing you posts -- I'bet you don't want to be known as COW! Since you are copying these pages because you don't want to store the entire magazine, why dont you remove them from the binding or staples, then as someone else said, back them with a black sheet and shoot your jpg from a flat image - easy to light, and end of problem.
