If for example I print an 8 x 8 inch image on 8.5 x 11 paper, instead

area, one side is slightly more than a 1/4 inch and the other
slightly less.

In the driver Properties> Paper tab > Printable area - I have the
Standard button selected and the Centred Box checked On.

Is there another tweak I can perform to correct this misalignment ?

Hi Frank:

It may help to prefeed the paper by pressing the button with the arrow on it.
If that doesn't work, just nudge it a bit using the Print Options control
under the file menu.

All the best!

The easiest way I found to always have a perfectly centered print is to
enlarge the canvas size of the image to exactly the size of the paper, check
Maximum and Centered and then print, ignoring the warning about the clipping
(keep the "Preview" checkbox checked, just to make sure). It takes some
time, because the image file size is increased, but it's worth it.

Thanks for the good tips. I will try checking Maximum rather than
Standard AND I will be able to move the image position in Print
Options. i hadn't notced before that i can enter position values
relative to the picture's top left corner. Thanks.
