Digital BW, The Print

hi:

i am new to this list (and to digital photography)and have searched 
the archives before writing this.  i just bought a high quality 
35 and medium format scanner and now am considering buying an epson 
5500 as my printer of choice.  i plan to continue to do both B&W and 
color in 35 and 120. 

any experiences you have had with this printer?  should i consider 
others as well?  will i get high quality B&W prints using the color 
inks, or do i need to consider other setups and other inks to do this? 
 can i switch back and forth between color inks and B&W inks easily?
