Paul,

I almost forgot.....take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I don't know if it will be open this time of year, but it runs into Tennesee and offers breathtaking landscape opportunites. If you would like, I have some friends who live in Asheville and know the area very well. I would be happy to give you their name and phone number.

  Paul,

Approximately at the NC/Tenn border on I-40 (going west of Ashville)
is the Big Creek section of the Smokies. Very good for photography.
Let me know if you need more info. Have a great trip.

  Shilesh
