PS CS3-10.0.1 Update

PS CS3-10.0.1 Update

2008-01-14 by photog0946

GREETINGS GROUP,

Having recently upgraded to CS3, I've been struggling with the
possibility of installing the 10.0.1 update. My conundrum is as
follows. I'm running two 7600 printers from a Mac, one MK and one PK.
I also use the QTR driver. For colour work I have to install 4
printer drivers for each of the printers(Sheet, Roll Paper Banner,
Roll Paper No Margins Banner Etc.), as well as the QTR driver.
According to the PDF issued for printing in 10.0.1 I have to delete
all of my printers and add them again. This would mean re-adding five
printers on the MK Machine and four on the PK. Not an insurmountable
task, but certainly NOT one I look forward to. I use these printers
every day in my business and any problems could mean a loss of
productivity, to say the least. I realize there are some advantages
to be had with the update, but I'm wondering if the possible downside
is worth the effort. So far I have encountered NO problems while
printing from CS3, and my first inclination is to wait until some
issue arises that indicates an update is necessary.

Now, here's the question. Has anyone come up against the same wall I
am facing? If so, have you installed the update and attempted to
print from Photoshop without deleting and re-adding the applicable
printer drivers? Any information you might have gained in the process
would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Thank you all in advance.

HELLO MARK,
Not to belabor the point, but do you use PC or Mac? I'm simply trying
to eliminate as many variables as possible before I install the update
, although I doubt the platform will be of any consequence.

Thank You Mark!!!
