Dyes on Enhacnced (formerly Archival Matte)
2002-02-04 by SKID Photography
We are changing out portfolio to a 'loose leaf' form (print in a box), rather than a bound book using plastic 'envelopes' to hold the prints. We are planning on printing on the 'Enhanced Matte Poster Board' (formally 'Archival Matte') using dye inks on our 7000 for 2 reasons (as compare to the poster board semi gloss, designed for dyes): 1: It comes in more efficient sizes, we can get 4, 11x14 prints out of every 24x30" sheet (as compared to only two out of the 20x28" semi gloss). 2: We like the matte surface. Has anyone printed dye inks on the Enhanced Matte paper? Since it's for a portfolio all we need is a couple of year's (at most) worth of stability out of it. Oh...Eventually, we will be using the Indelible Inks, but because our new 7000 arrived damaged (it appears to be cosmetic) and will most likely be replaced, we don't want to load the Indelibles in this printer.
