Cleaning fluid for a channel not in use

Cleaning fluid for a channel not in use

2008-02-13 by met.graphix

I set up my 7600 for b&w printing. Currently I'm using 6 channels and
I'm planning to keep it this way for a while. I've just noticed though
that the 7th channel, which is not actively used, is beginning to
develop a clog. I want to remove the ink from that cart (funnel fill
type) and replace it with some kind of fluid to keep the nozzles clean
and going.
What type of fluid do people normally use in this situation?

Thx
Dario

The pink flushing fluid from InkjetMall works great for that, I have
it in an unused position for months.

Dario;

Matte, glossy, or both? If you are set of glossy, consider using the
extra channel for Gloss optimizer!

As a matter of fact I do have GLOP in house, as well as some of the
older MIS base. And GLOP is in the plans for down the road. In the next
few months though I'll be busy printing exclusively on matte. I thought
that GLOP may be causing some nozzle clogs if not used regularly. Is
that a valid concern?

Yes, over a long period like that it is more likely to dry up on the
bottom of the head. Cleaning fluid would be better then.

That's the question then. What's cleaning fluid???
I understand that MIS flushing fluid in just ink base. Is the flushing
fluid from inkjetmall that Mark suggested their version of ink base?
