BO printing - R300 anyone?

BO printing - R300 anyone?

2008-03-26 by pglombick

Has anyone used an Epson R300 printer for BO printing?

I have never done BO printing, but I have an old R300 sitting around I
can't give away, plus a R2200 dedicated to K7 inks, and a R2400 with K3
inks. I thought I might try the R300 if it would be a good printer for
this.

It does allow BO prinitng in the print options. I am not too sure about
the droplet size or which inks would be best?

Suggestions and pointers on paper, ink, and technique would be
appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Paul;

The R300 is essentially the same machine sa the R200, R220, R320,
R340,, anything before the Claria printers. It does a fine job of BO
provided the black channel is giving you a smooth banding-free print.
Eboni in a refillable cart is a good place to start, with perhaps
Epson VFA for a good paper, and enhanced mat for proofing. Check
Clayton Jones' website, he has info on BO, and it's all based around
an R200, the same machine without the card readers and other nonsense.

I'm using the R200 and the BO prints are okay, but I have to increase
the brightness of the image about 50% otherwise the print is way
underexposed.
