ColorMunki for better B/W

ColorMunki for better B/W

2008-04-17 by Keith Cooper

Hi I've got a quick guide to using the ColorMunki to produce icc
profiles with QTR. QTR will eventually support the ColorMunk exported
data format, but I've got a simple fix that works fine till then. I've
also got new versions (A4 and US Letter) of my standard B/W test print
that include a ColorMunki compatible 21 Patch strip. Note that the order
of patches is not the same as in the Eye One folder in QTR, since having
the first patch as 35% leads to missed measurements with the current
ColorMunki firmware and software. it's

olormunki.html>
If anyone has a ColorMunki and tries it, I'd appreciate knowing how well
it reads the patches on your particular paper?
bye for now

Keith,

I've made both 21 and 51 step targets for ColorMunki and have had no
problems reading either with no read errors or missed measurements.
These are not randomized targets, just black and white patch
separation bars between approximately 1x0.7 inch patches arranged in
12 inch rows. I'm really impressed with the Munki performance.

Hi, Sorry for the garbled response ... I made the mistake of trying the
new rich text editor on Yahoo on Safari on a Mac

I'll happily update the patch target when a few more people have tried
the CM. I was trying to get a single working 21 patch strip that would
fit in the space on an A4 sheet.
