Question on B&W forums....

2008-04-28 by jeffleeg8

Hi all:

Been a lurker here ever since I went to bulk on my 1280, mostly just
use epson stuff on my 2400....however I do have a question for you.

Recently I've been looking for good B&W forums on the web.

Best I've found so far is Black and White Visions on Fred Miranda.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff:

I think you are currently on the best of them!

That being said, I highly recommend the companion forums for Amadou
Diallo's book "Mastering Digital Black and White."

http://www.masteringdigitalbwbook.com/forums/

You might also want to check out the digital-fineart group which I
moderate (it's not dedicated to B&W, but certainly covers the topic):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/digital-fineart/

Sometimes joining a site just to read through the archives can be
very helpful.

All the best,

Andrew

Hi Jeff,

I'll second what Andrew said. You'll be hard pressed to find a more
advanced, informative and friendly forum on digital B&W than this one.
You get to learn from experts like Paul Roark, Tyler Boley (and
others), who are extraordinarily patient and generous in sharing their
knowledge.

Hi Andrew:

I actually am a member of your group:)

If you haven't visited the FM group, it a great place where images
are shared.

Thanks,

Jeff

PhotoCamel is another one to check out. Some talented folks post their
handiwork at this venue.

http://photocamel.com/forum/black-white/

Free to signup.

Look for a nifty (and free) BW plugin (another tool for the toolbox).

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
