Two Dead Epson C86's. What Next For B&W and Color Letter-Sized Printer?

Both of my Epson C86's died unexpectedly very recently. One was for dedicated color, the other for dedicated B&W, both using MIS inks. My default plan is to replace them with two C88's. I already know the workflow, and I have a set of working refillable carts. On the other hand, once those carts die, no replacements are available. So, I'm tempted to get one R280 to use for both color (glossy) and B&W (BO), swapping between Eboni and PKN in the black position as needed. Here are my questions: 1. MIS is continuing to sell refillable carts for the R280, correct? (That might be a question for MIS, just wondering if anyone knows.) 2. How does QTR/BO on an R280 compare to Paul's new 13.5% Eboni on a C8x? I'd love to get back into BO with a better printer. 3. I've built my image editing habits around Picture Window Pro and don't want to switch to Photoshop Elements. Is there an equivalent approach in PWP to Paul's "adjustment layers" color profiling technique using Photoshop Elements when printing with pigmented MIS inks on an R280? Are those adjustment layers essentially just color curves I could re-create in PWP? Looking for any insight. Alternative suggestions welcome too. Thanks, Mitch Kirschner
