UT-1400 ink usage

UT-1400 ink usage

2008-07-02 by Andre Moreau

Hello Paul,

The UT-14 inkset is a great inkset in terms of versatility (both matte
and glossy paper) and tonality choices with glossy paper.

I've been printing a lot on matte paper lately using refillable carts
with the UT-14 inkset.

It seems that only two ink carts are being used for printing on matte
paper, the black and light cyan position. Now I know how long these
small 12ml carts last: not very many 13x19" size prints before a
refill is needed.

Is there anyway that printing on matte paper can use more than two
carts (yellow position excepted) and extend printing before a refill
is needed while still using the same inkset?

TIA,
Andre

Buy a $50 CIS off of Ebay.

The one I bought for my Epson 2200 has 100ml storage per ink, about 8x
as big as the regular carts. Also easy to refill.

Paul has also recommended one in the past. If you search on his posts
you should find the name of the manufacturer.

Best,
Michael

Thanks for the advice, but I'll pass for the time being. I've had
several CIS from different sources in the past and I'd rather forget
the troubles I've had with them.

Cheers,
Andre
