Inexpensive Inks and a Good CIS

Inexpensive Inks and a Good CIS

2008-07-12 by Bob Marsolais

I have found a source of reasonably priced quality CIS's that support
Epson printers using the older 7 contact chips as well as the new 9
contact chips. My 4 ink CIS was only $29.00. I have installed one in
a CX4900Fax multifuction machine that uses the same chips as the 1400
and it works great. They also sell 4 oz bottles of Image Specialist
inks for $12, not $18. Since Image Specialist MK for the R1800 is
probably the same as Eboni black, this represents a considerable
savings in ink costs. The Image Specialist inks are top quality
replacements for Durabrite Inks.

The company is InkJetCarts.us and their support is excellent. The
owner, Ross Hardy, obviously knows inkjet printers.

I am not associated with this company in any way and do not get any
discounts for passing this informaton along. It's just my way of
giving back to this forum since I have benefited from it so much.

Just in case it matters, any trademarks I mentioned are the property
of their owners!

No offense meant, but come back in 3 months and let us know how that
CIS is still working. My Ink Republic CIS has been going for 3 years
(I think, can't really remember right now, might be 4 years) and has
seen more reams of paper pass through the CX6600 than I can even try
to remember. I'm starting to wear the printer out as there are a few
squeeks when it is working now, so I would say it was well worth the
high cost because it has been absolutely problem free since the first day.

As far as the inks, yes Image Specialists makes very high quality
inks, and I have been using them and recommending them for many years.
But I will give you one key to success. The Image Specialists pigment
inks tend to build up on the head cleaner (rubber wiper),so keep that
clean and they should not give you problems.
