My Ink Republic CIS has been going for 3 years (I think, can't really remember right now, might be 4 years) and has seen more reams of paper pass through the CX6600 than I can even try to remember. I'm starting to wear the printer out as there are a few squeeks when it is working now, so I would say it was well worth the high cost because it has been absolutely problem free since the first day. As far as the inks, yes Image Specialists makes very high quality inks, and I have been using them and recommending them for many years. But I will give you one key to success. The Image Specialists pigment inks tend to build up on the head cleaner (rubber wiper),so keep that clean and they should not give you problems.
