My first book!!

My first book!!

2008-09-09 by yaakovsinclair

Dear Friends,
I am so excited to tell you that as I write this, my first book,
Seasons of the Moon, is being printed!
It's taken many years (and has been through a fair amount of ups and
downs on the way) but finally with G-d's help, the presses are rolling.
David Spivak of Focus Publishing picked up the project and has done a
wonderful job, investing an incredible amount of time and effort to
make an exquisite production in quadtone warm palette inks.
For a limited time, the book is on special pre-publication offer with
a 30% discount at http://www.focuspublishing.net.
With very best wishes for a good and sweet year!

Yaakov, this is wonderful news! Your images, whether filled with lyric
beauty or profound sadness, represent some of the best of what
photography can be, and will both elevate and inspire all those who seek
to express their own artistic vision.

"Man In The Moon" simply takes my breath away, and, by itself, justifies
the price of the book. I've stood on the Mount of Olives on a full moon
night and looked west across the Temple Mount to the Old City and West
Jerusalem, and seen the magic you've captured in this picture. Truly,
it brings tears to my eyes. As, for very different reasons, does the
rail car image from Yad Vashem.

Your work reminds me of the best of the pictorialists of the early 20th
century, whose work inspired me at a very early age to become a
photographer. You, too, create an evocative, interpretative
representation of what you see, rather than a mere replication of
reality. This, to my way of thinking, is what photography should be,
but so very rarely is.

I'll be ordering a copy of the book, and wish you every imaginable
success with it.

Mazal tov!

Yaakov...
now I know where you got my email from. Please stop sending me personal emails every few days about your book. I have a feeling that mining this group or any yahoo group for emails is against policy.
I posted this here in case others get your emails also

Dear Frank,
First, let me apologize if you got more than one email from me. It was
because my email skills are basic at best. Second, I am not 'mining'
this, or any other, group. If I have your email, it is because we
wrote to each other at some point.

with best wishes and, once again, my apologies
