Aussie Epson R290 6 Color

Aussie Epson R290 6 Color

2008-10-22 by jag24x

Hi all,

Here in Australia, Epson has a R290 a 6 Color printer. Will be getting
a CIS for it. I plan to do only B&W on the printer, so I was wondering
what sort of B&W 6 ink to get from inksupply?
Looking at the list http://www.inksupply.com/qn.cfm
there is no R290 in the "6 Color Printer" list.
I presume I could use the R200/R220 or R260/R380 inks?
Perhaps the R260/R380 is the one closer to the R290.
Though a question in my mind is why is "UTRC" is only available and not
the EB6 ink for R260/R380? Would it matter if I got the EB6, or would
there be an issue with the ink clogging?
Thanks

It's probably closest to the R260, but I assume the inksets that work
with the 1400 would also be appropriate.

Probably yes.

I simply never tested Eboni-6 on the printer. I assume it'll work
fine. See http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Eboni-6.pdf

There is no reason I know of that would cause the ink to clog. It
works fine on the 1400 and 1800 -- both 1.5 picoliter printers like the
one you're going to use. Eboni-6 is a fairly generic inkset that
should work well on all Epson printers.
