I am trying to make some B&W images on my epson 1800. Can anyone suggest as to what paper to use? I've tried Epson ultra presentation, and a few others. I'm looking for a higher quality paper. Any suggestions/advise/help, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

Hi Mike: There are many great papers available that are compatible with the R1800, and that will produce good quality B&W images. If you like a specific surface, or if you have a specific price per sheet you'd like to keep under, I'd be happy to make a more specific recommendation or two (or three!). Some of my favorites are below: Semi-Gloss RC Papers: Red River UltraPro Satin (www.redriverpaper.com) Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl (www.ilford.com) Inkpress Pro Silky (www.inkpresspaper.com) Fiber Gloss/Fiber Semi-Gloss Papers: Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl (www.hahnemuhle.com) Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk (www.ilford.com) - Best value of this group. Innova FibaPrint Ultra Smooth Gloss 285gsm (www.innovaart.com) Innova F Type Gloss 300gsm (www.innovaart.com) Innova FibaPrint Satin High White 300gsm (www.innovaart.com) Inkpress Pro Baryta Warm Tone (www.inkpresspaper.com) Coated Matte and Watercolor Papers: Inkpress Rag Cool Tone 300 C2S (www.inkpresspaper.com) Inkpress Rag Warm Tone 300 C2S (www.inkpresspaper.com) Innova Cold Press Rough Textured 315gsm (www.innovaart.com) Moab Entrada Rag Natural 190 and 300 (www.moabpaper.com) Moab Entrada Rag Bright 190 and 300 (www.moabpaper.com) Premier Art Velvet BW 300gsm (www.premierimagingproducts.com) Red River Paper LuxArt Satin Rag 270gsm (www.redriverpaper.com) Hope that helps, Andrew -------------------------------------------------- Andrew Darlow Editor, The Imaging Buffet http://www.imagingbuffet.com Author, 301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques: An Essential Printing Resource for Photographers - http://www.inkjettips.com

For the past 2 years ,Ive been using Epson luster for both my color and a handful of b&w prints, that I've attempted to print. I would like to try the hahnemuhle fine art,and the Ilford galeria gold I dont know I need a 300 weight paper,I would prefer something a little lighter in a luster,or satin finish. What do you use for your B&W printing?Again Im on a big learning curve now. Any thoughts on epson exhibition paper . Thanks again for your help Mike
