Harvey, You want a unit that has a HEPA filter to remove very small particles, a prefilter to reduce the load on the HEPA filter and probably an activated charcoal filter to remove organic vapors. The prefilter and charcoal filter should be replaced regularly. The HEPA filters are very long lived and actually get more efficient over time. > > Also, are these things rated by room volume? Yes.
