Digital BW, The Print

Hi all!

I am new to the group and trying to get up to speed on whats new...is 
there a general list for all the abbreviations used in the messages? I 
know what GLOP is, but get lost pretty quick when it comes to the 
mk,pk,mk3....and so forth.

Also, general question. I have an epson 1400 that I use the eboni 
inkset with 6 tanks with 6 dilutions. I get some great results, but on 
a lark i tried quad tone rip black only with the dye inks from mis and 
got results so close I can't tell them apart without really looking. 
Is there a disadvantage to using the epson 1400 dye inks from MIS and 
doing black only?

Amen to that! There's a thread here I'd really like to benefit from
but first I'll have to jump in and ask about some abbreviations. I do
Black Only with 3MK - and that's about the only set of initials I
understand! K is for black as in blacK - I finally figured that out.
And M is for matte... but PK is gloss black, it means "Photo" black, I
guess on the assumption that originally black and white photos were
glossy. Beyond that, I'm lost. I hope you get some good answers!
