epson BO on r1400 or just use r2880?

I understand there are many variables involved,  but overall which would
you say gives a more pleasing B&W print, the R1400 retrofitted for BO
only, or the R2880 as is?

I have the Epson 1400 with MIS UT-14 inks and it works GREAT for me..
