Is anyone having any luck signing satin or luster prints with a pencil or am I relegated to using acid free pens. If you have found a pencil that works what kind and where to purchase it Thanks in advance Vinny www.wulfsden.com

There was a discussion of this issue recently in some group I read, and I settled on the Sakura Pigma Micron 03 (.035mm). It is a pen, but it looks good - not too dark - and is supposed to be archival. Bought it at my local artists supply store. Other widths are available. - susan --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "vinyo88" <orlandovl@...> wrote:

I second the vote for the Sakura Pigma Micron. They are really wonderful. I wrote an article about it here: http://www.reddogjournal.com/darlow-15 All the best, Andrew --------------------------------------------------- Andrew Darlow Editor, The Imaging Buffet http://www.imagingbuffet.com Author, 301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques: An Essential Printing Resource for Photographers - http://www.inkjettips.com On Aug 29, 2009, at 2:39 PM, slcphoto73 wrote: > There was a discussion of this issue recently in some group I read, > and I settled on the Sakura Pigma Micron 03 (.035mm). Susan and Andrew, thanks for the info. That is the pen I was considering but didn't know if anyone had tried them. I will give them a try Vinny www.wulfsden.com --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Andrew Darlow <ad@...> wrote:

Has anyone tried using a Stabilo pencil? Made by Schwan, 8046. It writes on lots of glossy surfaces.

I was working with an architect and she gave me a mechanical pencil that worked very well on the back of glossy Epson paper. It's called a Penmate Duo Expert. But I'm having trouble finding more lead (.7mm) for it. I've also used the Schwan Stabilo but it tends to smear a bit. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "vinyo88" <orlandovl@...> wrote:
