3-MK, PK & Glop Workflow

2009-09-03 by ex0cute

Paul,

I have just bought a used R800 with the intent of dedicating it to your 3-MK, PK & Glop workflow. I already use your 3-MK workflow in my existing R1800. I'm sure you have answered this before, but after reading your worlflow instructions from 2/16/08 I'm not clear about the process for the GLOP 2nd pass. I set up your Ilford profile in QTR which include's the 2 GLOP curves; should the GLOP curves be placed in their own, separate profile for the 2nd pass, or should I do 2 passes using your complete Ilford GF profile. I'm not even sure if the R800 will work as I don't believe it has a rear paper feed like the R1800, but it is worth trying. Thanks for your great work in black-only priniting.

It's been a while since I did not of these second pass workflows. My memory is that it works best to have glop in both the first pass and then a second pass with just glop -- over everything.

You'll have to experiment to see what works best for you. Keep an eye on pizza wheel marks and whether all the glop is fouling the exit rollers.
