OT -- Hubble Space Telescope images

2009-09-22 by pr_roark

I've been playing with a Hubble image of a nebula and one of my old images. I'm happy to say our B&W printing techniques work very well in displaying these space images.

My muses don't like this style, but it's fun. In general, I don't do composites. I'll probably display one of these in a Gallery Los Olivos show in January and February where we're encouraging people to do something different. I'm interested what others think.

You are right, Paul. B&W works very well with this nebula. I found the seeming turbulence of the nebula quite a contrast to the serenity of the sand. It is an image that makes one pause and think a bit. Thanks for sharing. I went to the NASA site you referenced and spent some time looking at these amazing images. There is a book out called "The Hand of God," whioh prints many of the Hubble images with some philosophical thoughts. Nancy

I too was there. Filled 8mb of memory with my D3. Great opertunity for photographing some social statements, and colorful people. I have been viewing, and printing images of the march all day today. The diversity of the people making up the demonstration was wonderful. The seven mile hike healthful.
