so I can make some judgement on which to buy.It will need to be a GB system, as I live in england

If you mean a C88, I've had a CIS on one (well, actually a series of
them) for about 5 years. Got my CIS from MIS Associates, and have been
using their EZ inks to do B&W on matte papers. I print Christmas books
for family, usually about 1,000 prints per season (divided up among 8-10
books), plus a few hundred Christmas cards each year. I don't get more
than a few thousand prints out of a printer before it dies, but I used
to get the printers for under $50 so I'd just replace 'em. Now they're
up around $100, which still isn't too bad spread over a few thousand
prints. I've moved the CIS without incident whenever I replaced the
printer.

Don't know if MIS ships to GB or not. They're at
http://www.inksupply.com/cobra.cfm (Oops, I see they've been renamed to
InkSupply.)

Cheers,
Kip

I use a Superjet CIS I got off ebay (use with C13.5 home mixed). Works fine.
