Removing black ink from hands?

Removing black ink from hands?

2009-12-08 by garyphoto6

I had a little ink event tonight and quite a lot of ink ended up on my hands. Does anyone have any great ways to remove black ink from hands and nails?
Thanks,
Gary Wagner

I found that the orange clearer sold for working on your car, or handy man
type work is fantastic for cleaning ink off your hands. Fast Orange

It will fade in a few hundred years, don't worry :)

Try Simple Green straight up.

When that happens I usually spray some Windex on my hands.

Iinkjet ink is peculiar that way. While its nearly impossible to
remove it all from your skin by washing, at least without chemicals
that you probably don't care to use on your skin, it none-the-less
fades out in fairly short order. I find that time spent in the hottub
accelerates the process. I've often wondered which way its going: out,
or in? Like auto mechanics (who suffer the nickname greasemonkeys
because of it) those who mess about with printing tend to be easy to
distinguish. Those who work on the press floor still use the term "get
some ink under their nails"when wishing those without press floor
experience would get some. My wife has taken to warning me two or
three days in advance when there is social occasion which she deems
important enough that she would like me to be ink-free that day. Given
the acceptability of tattoos these days (often referred to simply as
'ink') I don't see why the freeform, and sometimes colorful, inking
that comes from mucking about with printers should still suffer from
such prejudice...

Biotex is my friend in cases like that.
Meant as a prewash for dirty linen.
Enzymes to do the job, part of your skin goes with it.
Tramps that have to get medical treatment in hospitals are first put in
a bath with it.
That kind of stuff.

Also, use a good stiff brush! And if you can stand it, some Clorox--just be careful not to get it on your clothing!

The hand sanitizer that the school has installed all around our campus in response to the H1N1 thing - seems to work very well at removing ink stains from hands - inkjet, india and printing ink -
